AT A GLANCE

Official notes name four Cryo employee exotics and two Cryo weapon mods. Of the checked descriptions, only Stormcloud Accumulator is explicitly called stackable.

Employee Cryo exotics

The developer’s Cryo devlog describes four employee exotics. These are character abilities, not weapon mods or a grenade recipe.

ExoticEffect described in the devlog
Ice CubeHold Q to encase yourself and gain resistance. Jumping out creates a Cryo explosion and heals based on how long you stayed inside.
Permafrost WaveHold Q to send freezing spikes in every direction.
Splinter VirusHold Q to freeze nearby unfrozen targets and instantly shatter nearby frozen targets.
Ice SkatesToggle the ability to move faster with reduced control.

The official Cryo devlog ↗ says an employee can equip one of these exotics at a time. Its descriptions explain the abilities, not exact current balance values.

Weapon Cryo mods

A separate official 1.0-and-the-Moon announcement names weapon upgrades that apply Cryo. They should not be confused with the employee exotics above.

The release notes below were published around the 1.0 launch. They record the named effects and the stacking statement, but are not a complete post-launch balance table.

UpgradeWeapon and rarityPublished description
Subzero EnergyCycler · EpicBullets apply Cryo; fire rate is decreased.
Stormcloud AccumulatorDMLR · EpicFires Cryo shards; the announcement says it can be stacked.

These names and effects are from the dated official 1.0 and the Moon post ↗. Current values or later balance changes need a newer patch source.

What is confirmed to stack

The checked official post explicitly says Stormcloud Accumulator can be stacked. It does not establish a universal rule for every upgrade, every employee exotic, or every weapon mod. Treat each item’s own description as the limit of this evidence.

Cryo also appears in other update material, including grenade and enemy references. Those are separate game systems and do not make the four employee exotics into weapon mods.

Sources and limits

This is a source-bounded reference, not a complete numerical upgrade database.
